We’ve had a quiet day after Christmas around the house. Next week I’ll head up to Austin Peay to try my hand at letterpress printing. I haven’t hand-set type since my grad school years at Cranbrook, and I’m really looking forward to it. I’m planning to print a poster discussed in Huckleberry Finn using some the type in the Goldsmith Press and Rare Type Collection. We’re lucky enough to have two letterpress poster shops in Tennessee: Hatch Show Print in Nashville, and Yee Haw Industries here in Knoxville. Here are some examples of poster projects from the Arthur Goldsmith Collection.
