Here’s my proposed t-shirt design for Pellissippi State’s Common Book. The front includes a civil war map of Knoxville. The back lists our campus events surrounding Sharpshooter. Opinions?

I like your idea for the shirt, I would suggest a different color.

Yes, well, it’s a draft. Folks among the faculty/staff are very nervous about the drips, seeing then as bullet holes or blood drips. I like the gestural feel of them, but am looking to replace them with something else equally grungy.

I notice that there are complaints about brown shirts on Threadless.com, but I buy them and wear them myself. It needs to be a medium value color I think, so the map is lighter and the title is darker. What colors do you like?

I would suggest a Teal/Blue color maybe a little lighter than this example (if the URL shows up):

I would definitely buy this shirt. I personally LOVE the drips. Overall I like the shirt a lot.

Nice color! I could go for that.
I went shopping for victoriam clip art of a pen and ink pot, but didn’t find what I was looking for. I’ve tried two other smear/splatters, but no go. I’m glad you like it.

I like the brown. I like the light blue map. I like the drips, its about a civil war for christ’s sake. I think a little blood may be appropriate. I dont know what you could possibly replace them with that would have the same connotation. I say stick with it. Controversy generally happens somewhere around the truth. I’d wear it!

Thanks for the support! I’m sure I can design something that Student Life will be happy with and will be too.

I love the letterspaced Baskerville on your site. Looking forward to seeing some content!

Hey I like this, both the brown and the blue, i dig the spatters as well but understand their hesitation. The shirt reminds me of Affliction t shirts http://www.afflictionclothing.com/ very hot item these days. Popular amongst the Mixed Martial Arts and extreme sports folks.
