Tomorrow is July 4th, and I wanted to design something for the occasion. Undocumented immigrants have been a hot-button issue for the past couple of years. I believe we should reform immigration policy to allow more fair and legal immigration–not less. As it happens, politicians have manipulated post 9/11 fears to build Israeli-style border fences, to create a color-coded paranoia index, and to wage two preemptive wars that have damaged our international reputation and world security. What can I say about being a citizen of our still-great nation this Independence Day? How about this. The words are from the base of the statue of Liberty. The headline I picked up from somewhere. The Library Lady has a terriffic blog posting on the subject. We’d all do well to read it and start looking demanding a reasonable immigration policy.
